Our story begins in the heart of Colombia, where small-scale coffee producers are dedicated to cultivating and roasting the finest specialty beans. We're committed to doing it ethically and sustainably, ensuring every cup of Berraquera Coffee comes with a story as remarkable as its taste.
Meet the visionary behind Berraquera Coffee, our founder and CEO, Maria Paez. Just like our coffee, which is made in Colombia and cultivated in the United States, Maria has always been deeply rooted in both cultures. Her love for coffee is as strong as her connection to her heritage.
Maria is an artist. She discovered her first love in a canvas and a brush and hasn't looked back since. Recently, she has been exploring new forms of art. In addition to oil painting and drawing, she has taken up ceramics and photography. All the pictures of her brand and the logos are her creations. Maria earned her BA in art from SAIC, and upon graduation, she yearned for something that would allow her to explore her passions for coffee, art, and her entrepreneurial spirit. Maria obtained her Speciality Coffee Certification in Florence Italy and is an experienced roaster, she helped roast all our four varieties of coffee.
